From the Principal

Dear Springfield Families & Friends,

Over the past several weeks, we have had some outstanding parent events taking place at Springfield School. Our first annual, "Get Active, Springfield" took place on April 22. At this physical education themed night, families were able to test their skills in basketball, soccer and cup stacking, learn about healthy choices, complete an obstacle course and even take part in a family yoga session. We are looking forward to what this event will bring for next year!

On May 6, the Ms. Murphy, Ms. Moustakas, Ms. Schehr and the Our Community Ambassadors brought back our most successful after school event, Our Community Night. Companies from Midlothian, Crestwood, and Springfield family-owned companies came in and showcased what their businesses have to offer. In addition, several groups showcased their abilities as Woori Taekwondo, Necalli Cultural Movement and the Triple Threat Dance Studio all put on masterpieces in the gym. The evening wrapped up with some exciting raffles including "Pie a Teacher" and "Principal for a Day."

The excitement didn't stop there, as our parent group showcased their dedication to the staff and students of Springfield School by contributing to our "Stock the Lounge" event. The teachers greatly appreciate this event each year as it is one less thing they need to think about and prepare for, knowing a snack or quick drink is available for them in the lounge...THANK YOU PARENTS!!!

In the final month of the school year, we have many events: celebrations, step up days, summer planning sessions and more. We are not slowing down yet, keeping the momentum of the past few weeks as the finish line begins to show on the horizon!

GO CHARGERS!
